New learning journey season starts September 2026

We’re hosting two new collective learning journeys later this year as an expanding team, along with a series of taster sessions and pop-up events exploring different ways of moving beyond patriarchy. Read on to find out more.

The journeys

Our learning journeys are 6-12 week collective learning experiences designed for people ready to do the relational, embodied and political work of unlearning patriarchal patterns — in ourselves, in our relationships, and in the systems we are part of.

We believe these patterns that shape how we relate, love, lead and grieve are learned. Which means they can be unlearned. This is what we explore in our learning journeys.

We’re pleased to announce the following two journeys will start in September 2026:

  • A men-only* learning journey in Berlin, continuing the work we started two and a half years ago.
  • And a men-only learning journey in Barcelona, bringing the work to a new location for the first time.

* Open to men — cis and trans — and non-binary people who relate to and are affected by being read or socialized as boys and men. This is a space centered on relational and accountability work grounded in that shared experience.

** Open to all genders — including those for whom gender feels distant, fluid, or not central. Men joining this journey should already be familiar with the concept of patriarchy and have done some reflection work on their own role in it.

The men-only journeys create brave spaces for men and people socialised as men to go deeper into specific patterns of male conditioning.

We are currently adapting the all-gender learning journey to explore how we navigate things like power and care across gender lines and the specific gendered dynamics of anti-oppression work. Our next all-gender learning journey will start early 2027, you can pre-register here.

And our new Composting Patriarchy journey – exploring how patriarchy and anthropocentrism shape our relationships not only to ourselves and each other but also to the more-than-human world – will also start early 2027 (pre-register here).

All of these journeys build on the practices we’ve been developing for the past few years. The core elements remain the same: relational, embodied, systemic, intersectional and liberatory (read more about all 12 elements here). But the formats, focuses and flavours will vary depending on who’s hosting and the specific experiences and expertises they bring to the learning journey.

Over the past few months we’ve been building the foundations of the ‘collective’ we’re becoming. This has involved onboarding 10 new people who recently participated in learning journeys and are stepping in to co-steward this work moving forward. As such, our next learning journey season is being co-designed, organised and hosted by a growing team at Beyond Patriarchy. This means you’ll be learning from people who’ve been through this work themselves, who understand the challenges and possibilities from lived experience, and who are genuinely invested in building something together. More about the team coming in a separate post soon!

For now, we’re excited to share the details of these next three journeys and officially open for applications. Whether you’re new to this work or have been thinking about gender and power for years, these journeys create a container where you can bring your whole self, learn together, and imagine alternatives. You can find out more about the learning journeys and how to apply here – including our solidarity pricing, session overview, and pedagogical lineage.

How else to get involved

For those of you not living in Berlin or Barcelona, don’t worry – we’ll be hosting the next online learning journey starting March 2027. You can pre-register here for future learning journeys.

In the meantime, if you’re curious but not quite ready to commit to a full journey, or you want to get a feel for what we’re about before diving in, we’re hosting several taster sessions later this year, which we warmly invite you to come along to (dates & times coming soon):

  • Two in-person collaborative events in Berlin together with the Feminist Spaces Collective, using Forum Theatre to explore how to apply anti-oppression skills in practice to transform oppressive situations. 21st and 22nd July. More info here!
  • An online experiential workshop on collectively imagining worlds beyond patriarchy, supported by the Collective Imagination Practice Fund (TBC November 2026).
  • An online taster session on composting patriarchy, exploring the interconnections between patriarchy and the more-than-human world, supported by Unearthodox’s Edges of Possibility Co-Lab (7-9pm, Thursday 19th November 2026).
  • The fourth Shared Table Dinner in collaboration with The Oneliness Project, inviting men in Berlin to come together and share food and meaningful conversations (TBC December 2026).

All of this we’re building alongside you. If you’ve been feeling the weight of old patterns and wondering what else might be possible in yourself, your relationships, or in the larger systems we live in, come explore that with us.

And if you’d like to hear from the experiences of past participants, we recommend checking out the Beyond Patriarchy blog. There you’ll find generative interviews with participants about their experiences of the learning journeys and what’s emerging for them as they continue the work of unlearning and reimagining beyond patriarchy.
